Polish Politicians Post Holiday Wishes – Kaczyński Urges Exit from Hard Times, Mentzen Declares Confederation Non‑Seasonal

Polish politicians across the spectrum posted social‑media holiday greetings, with Jarosław Kaczyński urging a move out of a difficult period, Sławomir Mentzen affirming Confederation’s non‑seasonal status, and others emphasizing peace, faith, and unity.

Wishes from the Sejm and Senate Marshals

Polish lawmakers across the political spectrum posted holiday messages on social‑media accounts. Marshal of the Sejm Włodzimierz Czarzasty said the holidays are a time to put political quarrels behind us and pause—”It is a time for pause: can we be kind to one another?”—and noted that his recent meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reminded him of the importance of peace and the presence of loved ones. He compared the homeland to a holiday table, saying, “Our homeland is a bit like a holiday table: a little borscht, a little poppy‑seed roll, everyone has their own proper recipe for vegetable salad. But we are all together and that is what matters most.” Senate Marshal Małgorzata Kidawa‑Błońska added that the quiet of Christmas Eve helps us see how much we need each other and the great value of community. She wished everyone peace in their hearts, families, and ultimately the nation and the world, and encouraged more kind conversation and fewer quarrels at the Christmas table.

Opposition Calls for Moving Beyond Hard Times

Jarosław Kaczyński, chairman of the Civic Platform and leader of Poland’s largest opposition party, posted a holiday greeting that called for a constructive future. “I would like to wish you a happy, warm, family‑oriented holiday and that our larger affairs improve beyond what they have been. We should emerge from this difficult period with a sense of development, security for our families, and for our nation, moving toward a situation where the state fulfills its duties to its citizens truly well, reliably, and justly,” he wrote.

Mentzen Declares Confederation Not a Seasonal Party

Sławomir Mentzen, leader of Confederation, reflected on the past year and his presidential campaign in his holiday wishes. “The Confederation is not a ‘seasonal party,'” he affirmed. He also mentioned that other New Hope activists appeared in the recording.

Ministerial and Former Cabinet Members Offer Holiday Wishes

Ministers and former cabinet members also posted their holiday greetings. Among them were Dariusz Klimczak, Jakub Rutnicki, and Agnieszka Dziemianowicz‑Bąk, who noted that Christmas Eve is the first day off work. They all stressed the importance of peace, hope, joy, family gatherings, and tradition.
