Sebastian Mikosz was removed from his position as CEO of Poczta Polska (Polish Post) on Wednesday, citing the need to align company policy with ownership goals.
CEO Dismissal Confirmed
The Supervisory Board of Poczta Polska dismissed Sebastian Mikosz as CEO on Wednesday, according to the Ministry of Assets. The request for Mikosz’s dismissal, who had served as CEO for exactly two years, was justified by the need to ensure alignment of the company’s management policy with the objectives of its owner.
The Ministry of Assets stated via X (formerly Twitter): “Today, the Supervisory Board of Poczta Polska S.A. decided to dismiss Mr. Sebastian Mikosz from the position of President of the Management Board. The request for dismissal was justified by the need to ensure consistency of the Company’s management policy with ownership goals and the necessity of effectively implementing strategic assumptions, including rebuilding the company’s market position.”
Transformation Plan Requires Decisive Action
The Ministry added that “the efficient implementation of the Transformation Plan requires clear management decisions and effective dialogue with the owner, employees, and stakeholders.”
Sebastian Mikosz’s Career
Sebastian Mikosz was appointed CEO of Poczta Polska by the Supervisory Board on March 25, 2024. Previously, from February 15, 2024, he served as acting CEO, delegated from the Supervisory Board to lead the company. He previously held positions as CEO of PLL LOT and Vice President of IATA.
Deep Restructuring Underway
Since Mikosz took the helm of Poczta Polska, the company has undergone a deep transformation aimed at saving it from financial collapse and adapting to the modern logistics market.
Job Optimization Measures
A key element of the recovery plan was significant employment optimization, primarily through the Voluntary Departure Program and non-filling of vacancies. In 2025, employment decreased by 14.5%, representing the elimination of nearly 8,500 jobs annually. At the end of 2025, the number of positions fell to approximately 50,200.
Financial Support for the Company
From the beginning of 2024 to February 2026, the state postal operator received a total of 2 billion 667 thousand PLN in compensation for providing universal services between 2021-2024. The Ministry of State Assets also provided Poczta Polska with nearly 2 million PLN in 2024-2025 to address the effects of the September 2024 floods. Additionally, in 2025, the company received over 85 million PLN as a reduction in investment costs related to the implementation of the public e-Delivery service.

Financial Performance
In 2024, the company reported a net loss of 213 million PLN, which was 408 million PLN less than in 2023. EBITDA increased in 2024 to 42 million PLN, compared to a negative result of 591 million PLN the previous year. In 2024, Poczta Polska recorded a 200 million PLN increase in sales revenue, representing a 3% year-on-year improvement, and revenue from universal services increased by 139 million PLN, or 4.8% compared to 2023.
