Polish Presidential Election App Stopped 334,949 Voters from Casting Ballots

The RKW’s application, designed to prevent ballot misuse, caused 333,790 voters to be blocked from voting in the first round and 1,473 more in the second round.

Application Creates Conflict

The RKW, or Control Election Movement, released an online platform for election commission members to check potential voters presenting a valid voting certificate. If a red flag appeared, it was assumed the person had already voted elsewhere.

Incorrect Use

Despite being non-official, right-wing politicians encouraged its use. While the Nationwide Electoral Commission constantly emphasized the app’s limitations, it failed in two major cities, blocking eligible voters twice.

Investigation Launched

The ABW, under the supervision of a Warsaw local prosecutor, investigated the issue, eventually verifying one blocked voter’s case.
