A survey by Gazeta.pl reveals overwhelming opposition among readers to Przemysław Czarnek’s nomination as Poland’s next prime minister by PiS.
PiS Nominates Czarnek for Prime Minister
On March 7th, the Law and Justice (PiS) party announced Przemysław Czarnek as their candidate for prime minister. A subsequent reader poll was conducted to gauge public opinion on this decision.
Overwhelming Rejection from Readers
The poll results show a clear preference against Czarnek. 90.43 percent of voters indicated he is not a suitable candidate for prime minister (as of March 26, 2026). This response significantly outweighed all other options.
Only 8.20 percent of respondents expressed support for Czarnek, while 1.37 percent remained undecided. A total of 2852 votes were cast in the poll.
Czarnek’s Background and Experience
Przemysław Czarnek, born in 1977 in Koło, is a lawyer and academic affiliated with the Catholic University of Lublin. He served as Minister of Education and Science from 2020 to 2023.
Prior to his ministerial role, Czarnek was the Voivode of Lublin from 2015 to 2019 and a Member of Parliament since 2019. He has been the Vice-President of PiS since 2025.
His career combines political activity within the Law and Justice party with academic work, specializing in constitutional law.
