Polish Real‑Estate Schemer in Albania Convicted of Fraud

Polish businessman Dawid K. and his father Piotr have been convicted of defrauding Polish tourists in Albania, the court ruled, with sentences of prison and restitution.

The YouTube Channel and Real‑Estate Promises

Since 2018, the channel “Polak w Albanii” attracted a dedicated following by showing life in the Balkans and encouraging investment in properties around Saranda. Dawid K., born in 2004, promoted real‑estate opportunities and offered to broker deals for viewers.

Today the channel hosts only one video; the rest have been hidden or deleted, and the Facebook page has been inactive for months. An August 2023 post still urged viewers to “contact us” for help buying a plot in Albania.

The Fraud Allegations

In March 2022, Albanian media reported the arrest of a Polish man who allegedly lured a 43‑year‑old guest into paying 35,000 € for a false investment. The individual turned out to be 17‑year‑old Dawid K., who denied wrongdoing and claimed he was a victim of competition.

Polish prosecutors filed charges in Pruszków against Dawid and his father Piotr for a 146,000 zł (≈35,000 €) fraud, and against Piotr alone for an additional 12,000 zł fraud. The cases involved Polish families vacationing in Saranda who were promised rentals and property purchases.

Court Proceedings and Sentences

In January 2024 the Pruszków District Court issued an execution judgment without the parties present. Dawid was found guilty of defrauding 146,000 zł, receiving a sentence of 1 year 4 months’ restricted liberty (30 hours of community work per month). Piotr received the same sentence for the 146,000 zł case and 1 year 8 months for the 12,000 zł case.

Both men were ordered to repay 146,000 zł to the victims, with Piotr also owing an additional 12,000 zł. Only Dawid’s verdict has taken effect; Piotr’s appeal keeps the case pending.

Aftermath and Unmet Sentences

By mid‑October, Dawid had not completed his community‑work penalty. The Lublin‑West Court may replace the unpaid hours with jail time. Attempts to obtain statements from Dawid and Piotr last July were ignored; Dawid’s correspondence accuses the prosecutors of defamation and harassment.
