Polish Internal Security Agency raided a TV studio connected to a US bombing suspect in May, with FBI involvement.
ABW Enters TV Studio
In May of last year, the Internal Security Agency (ABW) entered a television studio that had previously been rented by Telewizja Republika. “In connection with the ABW action in one of our studios, we are raising the security level at the station,” said Republika’s editor-in-chief Tomasz Sakiewicz at the time. A spokesperson for the minister coordinating special services, Jacek Dobrzyński, emphasized in a statement that “the activities carried out by ABW officials in Warsaw’s Włochy district have nothing to do with the operation, either in the past or currently, of Telewizja Republika in this location.” “Making any accusations in this regard is an abuse and manipulation,” wrote Dobrzyński.
Palm Springs Bombing and Search for Accomplice
Now, journalists Dominika Długosz and Mariusz Gierszewski from Radio Zet and Newsweek’s podcast “In connection with the investigation” have described the behind-the-scenes of the services’ action from last May. According to the journalists’ findings, the case is connected to the bombing in Palm Springs in the USA. On May 17, there was an explosion of a car filled with explosives targeting a fertility clinic. Four people were injured, and the attacker, Guy Edward Bartkus, was killed. The man was an antinatalist, believing that people should not reproduce. As reported in the Radio Zet article, Daniel Park provided the explosives to Bartkus. Services quickly identified him as the attacker’s accomplice. However, Park left the US after the attack – first flying to Copenhagen and then to Warsaw.
Trail Led to Warsaw Studio
The FBI turned to Polish services to locate the man. According to Radio Zet’s findings, Park took a taxi to a location where television studios were previously rented by Telewizja Republika. Park was arrested on May 30. The US embassy thanked Polish services for their assistance. In June, the arrested man was taken to New York, then handed over to US services. He was imprisoned and committed suicide three weeks later. As Radio Zet reports, the owners of the studio used by Telewizja Republika assure they had no connections with Daniel Park.
