Polish influencer Łatwogang concluded a nine-day charity livestream on Sunday, raising over 251 million złoty (approximately $61.7 million USD) for the Cancer Fighters Foundation.
Record-Breaking Fundraising Effort
The fundraising campaign, led by Piotr “Łatwogang” Garkowski, surpassed the world record for the largest amount raised during a live charity stream. The final total exceeded 251 million złoty, with every złoty donated to the Cancer Fighters Foundation.
The stream, which began on April 17th, initially scheduled to end on Sunday at 4 PM, was extended first to 8 PM and then to 9:37 PM due to continued donations and engagement.
Massive Viewership and Celebrity Involvement
Over 1.4 million people watched the stream live during its final minutes. The event featured appearances from numerous celebrities, artists, athletes, and influencers, both online and in person at Garkowski’s Warsaw apartment.
Notable participants included Dorota “Doda” Rabczewska, Robert Lewandowski, Adam Małysz, Cezary Pazura, and Roksana Węgiel. Several stars, including Edyta Pazura, Katarzyna Nosowska, and Blanka Lipińska, shaved their heads in solidarity with children battling cancer.

The charity drive was inspired by the song “Ciągle tutaj jestem (diss na raka)” by rapper Bedoes, featuring Maja Mecan, a Cancer Fighters Foundation beneficiary. Łatwogang then challenged his followers to determine the stream’s duration based on likes on a TikTok post, resulting in a nine-day broadcast.

Analysts suggest the fundraising effort could become the “WOŚP” (Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity) for a younger generation, though potentially in a different, less regular format focused on streaming events.

According to a report by Res Futura, public sentiment surrounding the fundraiser is overwhelmingly positive (97%). The most frequent expectation is full transparency in how the funds are allocated.
The Cancer Fighters Foundation announced that the funds will be used for treatment, rehabilitation, medication, transportation to clinics, specialist consultations, and supporting the daily lives of their beneficiaries. They also plan to support patients needing prosthetics, specialized equipment, or solutions to return to a normal life.
The foundation will create a website to publicly detail how the funds are used, emphasizing transparency given the substantial amount raised.
