Polish Woman Attacks, Insults Ukrainian in Poznań

A woman in Poznań, Poland, was arrested Monday after a Saturday night incident where she assaulted and verbally abused a Ukrainian woman.

Aggressive Woman Attacks and Insults

The incident occurred around 11 PM on Saturday, April 4th, on Świętego Marcina Street in Poznań. A video circulating online shows the woman verbally abusing and then physically assaulting another woman, including the person who filmed the incident after attempting to intervene.

The insults primarily targeted the victim’s Ukrainian nationality.

Police Investigation and Arrest

Following a report from the victim, police secured video evidence. The suspect was apprehended Monday morning, April 6th, and further investigation is underway.

Prior Criminal Record

Police report the suspect has a history of prior offenses, including violations of personal inviolability, threats, insults, theft, document forgery, fraud, and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Charges and Prosecution

The woman will be brought before a prosecutor coordinating hate crime cases on Tuesday, where she will face charges and be questioned. A conviction for national-based insult carries a potential sentence of up to three years in prison.
