Poll Shocks Polish Right as Kaczyński Lags Far Behind New Leader

A United Surveys poll for Wirtualna Polska finds President Karol Nawrocki leading the right with 38.6% support, far ahead of PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński at 16.4%.

Nawrocki’s Unprecedented Lead

A United Surveys poll for Wirtualna Polska leaves no doubt: for the first time in years, Prawo i Sprawiedliwość President is not seen as the leader of this political bloc. According to the latest poll, incumbent President Karol Nawrocki decisively topped the ranking, securing significantly higher support than all other right-wing politicians combined.

38.6% of respondents named Karol Nawrocki. This unprecedented result in such polls shows a clear concentration of political authority around one figure. The President received over twice as much support as the politician in second place.

This result means that in the perception of a significant portion of society, Nawrocki is no longer just the head of state performing a constitutional function, but the actual reference point for the entire right-wing camp. This is an important symbolic change, especially in the context of the long-standing dominance of one party leader on this side of the political scene.

Kaczyński’s Position Weakened

Second place in the poll went to Prawo i Sprawiedliwość President Jarosław Kaczyński, whom 16.4% of respondents identified as the actual leader of the right. The difference between him and the poll winner exceeds 22 percentage points. This is a clear signal of weakening political position for a man who for nearly two decades was the unquestioned center of decision-making for the entire bloc.

This result can be interpreted as evidence of fatigue with the current leadership model or as an effect of generational and structural changes on the right. Importantly, although Prawo i Sprawiedliwość remains the strongest party in polls, its leader is no longer perceived as the main ideological and leadership point of this part of the political scene.

Konfederacja Emerges as Strong Competition

Third place in the poll went to one of Konfederacja’s leaders, Sławomir Mentzen, who received 9.4% of responses. His result is significantly lower than Nawrocki’s but sufficient for Mentzen to outperform all other Prawo i Sprawiedliwość politicians.

Close behind was Krzysztof Bosak with 6.8% support, and the top five was rounded out by Grzegorz Braun with 3.5% of respondents naming him. The podium and subsequent positions clearly show that Konfederacja and Konfederacja Korony Polskiej have become real personal, not just programmatic, competition for PiS.

Poor Results for Other PiS Politicians

The poll brought particularly unfavorable information for Prawo i Sprawiedliwość politicians, who in other polls—especially those concerning future party succession—achieved significantly better results. In the question about “real leadership here and now,” their ratings turned out to be very low.

Przemysław Czarnek was named by 1.4% of respondents, Mateusz Morawiecki received 1.2%, and Mariusz Błaszczak also 1.2%. Even weaker results were recorded by Patryk Jaki – 0.4% and Zbigniew Ziobro – 0.2%. Such a low level of responses suggests that none of them is currently perceived as a real leader of the entire right-wing camp.

High Percentage of Undecided Voters

An important element of the poll results remains the high percentage of undecided people. 20.9% of respondents chose the “I don’t know/It’s hard to say” answer. This is nearly one in five respondents, showing that a significant portion of society does not clearly identify with any right-wing leader or does not closely follow the internal political arrangements on this side of the political scene.

At the same time, even when taking this group into account, Karol Nawrocki’s lead over other politicians remains undisputed. Indications for the President significantly exceed the sum of responses given to all PiS leaders other than Jarosław Kaczyński.
