President Karol Nawrocki refused to award state decorations to special‑forces personnel on Independence Day, and he also rejected their promotion applications and award requests.
Minister Calls Decision Fatal
Minister of Special Services Coordination Tomasz Siemoniak said the president’s refusal was a fatal mistake, noting that those who fight sabotage and foreign intelligence orders risk life and health for national security and deserve the utmost respect.
Rejection Extends to Promotions
Siemoniak added that denying honors to these personnel solely because of differing political views or government evaluation is unacceptable.
Russian Citizen Arrested for Cyber Offences
On Thursday, officers of the Central Bureau of Cybercrime in Krakow detained a Russian citizen suspected of serious crimes involving unauthorized intrusion into the information‑technology systems of Polish firms. Siemoniak praised the bureau’s effectiveness and reminded Poland’s vulnerability to cyberattacks.
