Presidential Adviser: ‘Maybe Not Worth Bragging’ Over Meeting With Foreign Minister

A presidential adviser said the October 8 meeting between President Duda and Foreign Minister Sikorski might not be worth boasting about, after being asked by TVN24 about the ambassador nomination dispute.

Meeting With Sikorski on October 8

On TVN24, presidential adviser Marcin Przydacz was questioned about the dispute over ambassador nominations. He confirmed that on 8 October the president and the foreign minister met to discuss the matter.

When asked why the Presidential Office did not publicly highlight the meeting, Przydacz replied, “Maybe it was not worth bragging about.”

Letter From Radosław Sikorski to Karol Nawrocki

Przydacz referred to a letter published on 2 December by the foreign minister, in which Sikorski listed his “proposals for solving the problem.” He stated that the date mentioned in the letter was “one of the few truths” in it.

Stalemate Over Ambassador Nominations

The dispute centers on the nomination of 40 Polish ambassadors, including the United States post, which should be approved by the president before the Foreign Ministry. The current nominee, Bogdan Klich, has not received a presidential recommendation, causing friction between President Duda, the new Minister Nawrocki, and the Foreign Ministry.
