Archbishop Krzysztof Czerwiński, pastor of St. Joseph’s Parish in Świdnik, has passed away, according to Lublin Archdiocese.
Death Announcement
The Archdiocese of Lublin announced in a statement the death of Father Krzysztof Czerwiński, pastor of the parish of St. Joseph in Świdnik. The clergyman was born in 1958 in Sandomierz. In 1983 in Lublin, he received priestly ordination.
Mayor’s Tribute
The mayor of Świdnik, Marcin Dmowski, bid farewell to the clergyman on Facebook. “A very sad and tragic message has reached me, our Pastor Father Krzysztof Czerwiński passed away last night to the Lord’s home. I am terribly moved, a few days ago we met during Christmas caroling, a wonderful pastor, a good man, we could always count on each other,” he wrote.
Funeral Arrangements
“The priest married us, baptized our children, when I was an altar boy, he predicted that I would be mayor one day,” added the official. “A great loss for the parish of St. Joseph in Adampol, for the city of Świdnik, for the aviation community, whose Father Krzysztof was the chaplain,” we read further. The Archdiocese of Lublin informs that the requiem mass will be held on February 3 at 17:00 at St. Joseph’s Church in Świdnik. The next day at 11:00, the funeral mass will take place at St. Joseph’s Church in Klimontów (Sandomierz diocese).
