Prof. Bralczyk Rates Nawrocki’s Speeches; Notes Distinct Feature: ‘For Many It Is Irritating’

Polish linguist Prof. Jerzy Bralczyk evaluated the speeches of Donald Tusk, Karol Nawrocki and Jarosław Kaczyński, noting that Nawrocki’s loud, shouting style irritates many listeners.

Assessment of Three Politicians’ Rhetoric

In an interview with Tygodnik Przegląd, Prof. Bralczyk compared the speaking abilities of Tusk, Nawrocki and Kaczyński. He highlighted a clear difference between the president and the prime minister.

Credibility and Articulation: Tusk Leads

According to the professor, Tusk is convincing due to his speaking style and articulation. He stressed that credibility can be built in various ways, and that Tusk appears sincere when listeners hear him.

Nawrocki’s Loud Delivery Draws Mixed Reactions

Bralczyk observed that Nawrocki frequently shouts in his speeches, a feature that many find irritating. He noted that while some audiences are persuaded by the shout, others are convinced by a softer tone.

He referred to the shouting as a “short‑term thoracic method” and compared it to an inflated pathos.

Beyond Politics: Other Effective Speakers

The linguist also named Szymon Hołownia and Aleksander Kwaśniewski as good speakers. Kwaśniewski was praised for being outstanding in the past and “even better outside politics” now.

President Nawrocki’s Veto Record

On 18 December, the President’s office announced that Nawrocki signed 15 laws and vetoed 3: the Education Law amendment, the Public Health Law amendment, the Personal Income Tax Act amendment and the Excise Tax Act amendment.

He said that as President he must say “yes” when laws benefit citizens and “no” when they harm them, and that he would perform the veto “effectively.” He added that, since taking office on 6 August, Nawrocki has vetoed 17 laws.
