On 5 December, the Warsaw‑Praga District Prosecutor’s Office announced it had dropped the inquiry into the 15 March 2025 death of Barbara Skrzypek, citing insufficient evidence to establish causal links.
Prosecutor’s Statement
On Friday 5 December, the Warsaw‑Praga District Prosecutor’s Office released a statement announcing that a 4 December 2025 order had dissolved the investigation into the accidental death of Barbara Skrzypek on 15 March 2025, as the material did not exhaust the elements of Article 155 of the Criminal Code.
Evidence Collected
Prosecutor Karolina Staros highlighted that the case amassed extensive evidence, including witness interrogations, forensic and toxicological expert opinions, surveillance recordings and analysis, and telecom data.
Assessment of External Factors
According to the prosecutor, no third‑party actions during the investigated period could have caused Skrzypek’s death, and there were no objectively established circumstances or external events that might have influenced her demise.
Stated Medical Cause
Staros stated that Skrzypek died of a heart attack caused by advanced atherosclerosis, occurring within a few hours before death and three days after her interrogation, which was not linked to the stress of the interview.
Background on Skrzypek
Skrzypek, a long‑time associate of Jarosław Kaczyński, had been summoned as a witness in a case concerning the construction of “two towers” on a plot owned by the company Srebrna; she died on 15 March 2025.
