Prosecutors in Mińsk Mazowiecki have discontinued the investigation into a July 2025 warehouse fire, ruling it accidental and not criminal.
Prosecutor Discontinues Investigation
The District Prosecutor’s Office in Mińsk Mazowiecki has discontinued the investigation into the fire at a production and storage warehouse that occurred on July 13, 2025. The fire threatened property on a large scale and led to the complete burning of the building and equipment with a total value of over 50 million złoty.
Fire Details
The fire occurred on July 13, 2025 around 19:30 at a production and storage warehouse at Dźwigowa Street 13. It was a several-decade-old mixed-construction building with an area of about 4,600 square meters. Upon arrival, firefighters found a highly developed fire that spread quickly, completely destroying the hall and all equipment.
Investigation Process
During the proceedings, various procedural actions were taken, including interviewing representatives of companies operating in the building and employees of the companies, conducting site inspections, securing technical documentation of the hall and various systems, and securing and analyzing monitoring recordings from both inside and outside.
Expert Findings
According to Prosecutor Bartłomiej Świderski, spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Siedlce, the key to the findings was the opinion of fire experts. Experts from the Fire Academy ruled out arson as the cause of the fire, indicating that the cause was a failure in a fragment of the electrical installation located in the ceiling space of the hall.
Fire Cause Analysis
The electrical failure that initiated the combustion could have been caused by regular and prolonged moisture resulting from a leaking roof. However, the technical condition of the roof was not causally linked to the fire itself.
Prosecutor’s Conclusion
Based on the evidence, primarily the conclusions of expert opinions from the field of firefighting, Prosecutor Bartłomiej Świderski concluded that the case did not meet the conditions of the crime of setting fire. He stated: “Based on the collected evidence, above all the conclusions of expert opinions from the field of firefighting, the prosecutor concluded that this event did not meet the elements of the crime of setting fire.”
