Raccoon Breaks into Liquor Store, Drinks Himself to Concussion

In Hanover County, a raccoon broke into a liquor shop on Nov 28, raided shelves, collapsed in a bathroom, and was rescued by animal‑control officials.

Incident at Hanover County Liquor Store

On Friday 28 November, a raccoon broke into a Hanover County liquor store in the United States. It raided several alcohol shelves, fell through a ceiling panel, and later lost consciousness in the shop’s bathroom.

Animal‑control personnel were dispatched to the scene and secured the animal.

Safe Release into the Wild

According to the shelter staff, the “very drunk raccoon” received care after being transported to the facility. After a few hours of sleep and no visible injuries—apart from a possible hangover and regrettable choices—he was released back into the wild with the hope that he learned to stay away from break‑ins.

Raccoon Found with Meth Pipe in Car

In May, a raccoon was recovered from a vehicle in Springfield Township while holding a glass pipe used for methamphetamine. Police searched the car, discovering methamphetamine and crack cocaine.

Springfield Township Police described the incident as the first known case involving a raccoon in possession of a meth pipe.
