Railway Failure in the Małopolska Region

On Tuesday, August 26, a malfunction in the railway traffic control devices occurred at Miechów station in the Małopolska region. Piotr Hamarnik of PKP PLK confirmed during an interview with the press that temporary control procedures have been introduced to manage train movements. Efforts are ongoing to resolve the issue.

Delays in Railway Traffic

As a result of the failure on the route from Kraków heading north, train traffic has been disrupted. Possible delays in departures and arrivals are reported at Miechów station and on railway line 8, covering the section between Kraków Główny, Miechów, and the Tunnel. It is known that the PKP Intercity train “Ustronie,” traveling from Kołobrzeg to Kraków, experienced approximately three hours of delay. A replacement train has been deployed, and changes in train operations are expected to continue through Tuesday morning.
