Second Attack After Release

Hours after being released from detention, a man suspected of attacking women in Warsaw again robbed the same woman. Criminal Department officers from Praga Północ quickly located and detained the perpetrator.

March 7th Incident Details

The incident occurred on March 7, 2026, on Brechta Street in Warsaw. Police established that a particularly audacious theft, known as a “bag snatch,” had taken place. According to officers’ findings, the perpetrator is a 45-year-old man well known from previous property crimes.

After the incident, the man headed toward Równa Street. Police immediately went to the indicated area, where they noticed a man matching the perpetrator’s description. After checking his identification, they confirmed his identity and detained him. During questioning, the man admitted to taking over 150 zloty from the bag before throwing it and other items into a trash bin. Police found 136.48 zloty on him during a search, which was secured as evidence.

Same Victim as Previous Attack

As police determined, the victim was the same woman who was attacked by the same man in December of last year. At that time, the perpetrator used violence – pulling and pushing the woman before taking her bag. That case was widely covered by national media.

In connection with the December incident, the court had applied temporary detention to the man. According to police, on the same day in March, just after leaving the detention center, the 45-year-old again committed a similar act against the same victim.

Custody After Arrest

After completing procedural actions, the detained man was placed in a police detention room.
