Officers had quickly gathered information regarding the suspect’s anticipated location and time of appearance, necessitating swift action.
Extensive Criminal History
The man was known to police from previous interventions and arrests, with a prior record for theft and drug possession.
Details of the Offenses
This case involved fuel thefts, the use of false license plates, and driving without a valid license, occurring between late December and early April.
Police from the Petty Offenses and Administrative Proceedings Division linked incoming reports and shared their findings with the Property Crime Division.
Arrest and Evidence Seizure
Police dynamically apprehended three men, releasing two after questioning, while the 35-year-old was taken into custody. He possessed marijuana at the time of the arrest; police seized a portion of the drug.
Charges Filed
Investigators from the Property Crime Division, in collaboration with the Petty Offenses and Administrative Proceedings Division, compiled substantial evidence leading to charges against the 35-year-old.
He faces charges of 14 fuel thefts, 25 thefts using false license plates, and drug possession.
Additionally, he will be held accountable for 40 instances of driving without a license.
The thefts were committed while the suspect was a repeat offender.
Pre-Trial Detention
The prosecutor’s office requested a three-month pre-trial detention, which the court granted, sending the 35-year-old to jail.
