Rocket Fragments Kill Woman in Abu Dhabi as Iran Retaliation Claims 45 Lives Across Middle East

Rocket fragments from Iran’s retaliatory strike killed a woman in Abu Dhabi while similar attacks claimed 45 lives in Iran and Syria.

Abu Dhabi Under Rocket Attack

Recordings and witness accounts confirm that residents heard a series of loud explosions before the tragedy. One woman reported five consecutive explosions so powerful that windows in her home vibrated. These sounds were also heard in areas near Al-Zafra and Al-Batin air force bases, located about 10 kilometers south of downtown Abu Dhabi.

Iran’s Wide-Retaliatory Strike

The events in Abu Dhabi occurred as part of Iran’s broad retaliatory attack, which targeted several Persian Gulf and Middle Eastern countries hosting US military bases. Iranian missiles were aimed at strategic military points in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and at Al Dhafra base in the UAE, which plays a crucial role in US Air Force operations in the region.

Defense Systems and Civilian Casualties

Most countries encountered air defense systems that managed to intercept many of the launched missiles. In Qatar and Kuwait, military services confirmed shooting down or intercepting missiles before they reached their targets. However, rocket fragments from these maneuvers fell on civilian areas, causing the death of one person in the UAE capital.

Bahrain Military Target

Additionally, Bahrain confirmed that one of the missiles hit a service center for the US Fifth Fleet, causing a massive explosion and the sound of alarm sirens in Manama. Jordan’s military reported shooting down two Iranian ballistic missiles over its territory, indicating the intensity of defensive actions throughout the region.

Minab School Attack

Simultaneously with Iran’s retaliatory attacks, authorities in Tehran announced tragic consequences from earlier US and Israeli airstrikes on Iranian territory. According to the IRNA state agency, a girls’ elementary school was hit in Minab in Hormozgan province. The death toll rose from five to 40 students.

Syrian Civilian Deaths

Syrian sources also reported an incident where remnants of an Iranian ballistic missile fell on a residential building in As-Suwaida province. At least four people, including a father and son, were killed in the impact, and the residential building suffered significant damage.
