Russia Attacks Ukraine Region Bordering Poland Amid Explosions

Russian forces struck a Ukrainian region bordering Poland with drone attacks, causing explosions and prompting air raid alerts in Lviv Oblast.

Air Raid Alerts in Lviv Oblast

Head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration Maksym Kozycki reported on Sunday about air raid alerts in the Sheptytskyi, Stryi, Lviv, and Zolochiv districts. “There is a danger of attack by enemy combat drones,” he warned. Reports mentioned a drone flying near Kamianka-Buzka in the Lviv district. “The explosion sounds heard in Lviv at 8:48 and in Khodoriv at 8:40 indicate our air defense destroyed enemy drones,” Kozycki later stated.

Russians Attack Residential Area in Kramatorsk

Attacks also occurred in eastern Ukraine, including in Kramatorsk in Donetsk Oblast. “At dawn, the enemy attacked a residential area. Apartments on the 3rd floor of a nine-story building and cars in the courtyard caught fire. Unfortunately, one person died and two were injured,” Ukrainian services reported. “Rescuers also participated in extinguishing a fire in a residential building in Druzhkivka, but were forced to stop work due to repeated shelling.”

Attacks on Kherson and Odesa Oblast

On Saturday after 11:00 PM, Russians shelled the Korabelny district in Kherson. On Sunday after 7:00 AM, Russian forces shelled the central part of the city. “Houses, shops, and catering establishments were damaged. Eight injured women are known, some of whom rescuers had to free from under the rubble. Five injured received outpatient treatment, three are in the hospital,” Kherson authorities reported. Attacks by Russian drones also occurred in Odesa Oblast on the night from Saturday to Sunday.

Volodymyr Zelensky: Mass Attack on Ukraine

“On the night from Saturday to Sunday, Russia carried out another massive attack on Ukraine, using over 400 drones and almost 40 missiles of various types. The production of this weapon would be impossible without key foreign components that Russians continue to obtain, bypassing sanctions,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski reported on Sunday morning. “We are introducing new sanctions against such companies – suppliers of components, as well as producers of missiles and drones. I have signed the relevant decrees.”
