Russia Condemns Attack
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning the attack by the United States and Israel on Iran. “The scale and character of the military, political, and propaganda preparations that preceded this reckless step, including the deployment of a large American military contingent in the region, leave no doubt that this is a planned and unprovoked act of armed aggression against a sovereign and independent UN member state, which constitutes a violation of fundamental principles and norms of international law” – reads the statement, cited by the Russian state agency TASS.

As emphasized, condemnation is also deserved by the fact that the attacks are being carried out again under the pretext of a resumed negotiation process, allegedly aimed at ensuring long-term normalization of the situation around the Islamic Republic.
“We demand an immediate return of the situation to a political and diplomatic solution path. Russia, as of now, is ready to contribute to seeking peaceful solutions based on international law, mutual respect and balance of interests” – stated in the statement.
Russia’s Position on Ukraine
The Russian Federation itself has been conducting a full-scale invasion of Ukraine since February 2022, recognized by most of the international community as a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter. Despite ongoing negotiations, Russian forces continue to attack targets on Ukrainian territory, including civilian infrastructure. Moscow is accused of hindering the peace process and escalating military actions.

The statement from the Russian MFA also stated that Washington and Tel Aviv again “have undertaken a dangerous game that rapidly brings the region to a humanitarian, economic and – perhaps – radiological catastrophe”. “The aggressors’ intentions are clear and openly declared by them – to destroy the constitutional order and overthrow the leadership of a state they dislike because it refused to submit to the dictates of force and hegemony” – added.
