Russia Demands Diplomat Evacuation from Kyiv, Threatens Retaliation Over Potential Drone Attacks

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged the evacuation of foreign diplomats from Kyiv, threatening retaliatory strikes if Ukraine targets Victory Day celebrations with drone attacks.

Russia Alarmed by Zelenskyy’s Remarks

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a note to all foreign diplomatic missions and related organizations, calling for the timely evacuation of diplomatic personnel and citizens from Kyiv.

The ministry warned of inevitable retaliatory strikes against Kyiv and its decision-making centers if the Ukrainian regime carries out “criminal terrorist plans” during Victory Day celebrations.

The communication follows President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s remarks at the 8th European Political Community Summit in Yerevan, where he suggested Russia’s military strength has diminished and noted that Ukrainian drones could target the May 9 parade.

Ukraine Demands End to War

President Zelenskyy emphasized the necessity of pressuring Vladimir Putin into negotiations through sanctions, specifically targeting the Russian oil, industrial, and banking sectors.

He also instructed Ukrainian representatives to contact Donald Trump’s team regarding a Russian proposal for a temporary ceasefire during the celebrations, noting that Ukraine seeks a long-term ceasefire to guarantee lasting peace.
