Russia Secretly Arms Iran with €500M Missile Deal

Russia signed a secret €500 million arms deal with Iran in December 2025, supplying 500 missile launchers and 2,500 projectiles.

€500M Secret Arms Agreement

In December 2025, Tehran and Moscow finalized a confidential €500 million weapons contract. Russia is obligated to deliver 500 portable Wyrzba launchers and 2,500 9M336 missiles within three years, per “Financial Times” reports.

Russia’s Middle East Shift

Moscow, previously consumed by the Ukraine war, had not provided significant support to Middle Eastern allies. This shift became evident in December 2024 when Syrian rebels ousted Bashar al-Assad, a long-term Russian partner.

The deal may signal Russia’s effort to rebuild ties with Iran after failing to assist during Iran’s 12-day war with Israel in June 2025.
