Estonian Response and Russian Actions
Tallinn has lodged an official protest with the highest-ranking Russian diplomat accredited in Estonia. The Estonian Foreign Minister, Margus Tsahkna, emphasized that Russia has already violated Estonia’s airspace four times this year, which he considered “unacceptable in itself.”
Tsahkna described the latest violation as “unprecedentedly brazen,” stating that the increasing frequency of such incidents requires a robust response with rising political and economic pressure.
Context and Previous Incidents
This incident marks another case this month where Russia has violated the airspace of a NATO country, following similar incidents in Poland and Romania involving Russian drones.
