Russian Propaganda Claims Poland Poses Greatest Threat to Belarus

A Russian military propagandist alleged that Poland, not Russia, represents the biggest danger to Belarus, accusing Warsaw of long-term efforts to destabilize Minsk.

Russian Propagandist Alleges Polish Threat

Russian military propagandist and frequent guest on state television, Alexey Leonkov, stated in an interview with NEWS.ru that Poland poses the greatest threat to Belarus. He claimed Warsaw has been involved in efforts to change the government in Minsk for years.

Propagandist: Poland Seeks Belarusian Territories

Leonkov asserted that Polish special services organized the 2020 protests in Belarus and attempted to overthrow Alexander Lukashenko. He added that most of the Belarusian opposition currently resides in Poland and conducts “anti-Lukashenko” activities there without restriction.

Territorial Claims and Nuclear Weapons

According to the propagandist, Poland also allegedly has territorial claims against the Grodno and Brest regions of Belarus. He further claimed that Polish officials have repeatedly spoken of an impending war with Russia and even requested the deployment of nuclear weapons on Polish territory.

Lukashenko Prepares for War

Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko has stated that his country is preparing for war, despite being opposed to it. He emphasized the necessity of maintaining a strong military and justified related expenditures.

Geopolitical Deterioration

Lukashenko warned that the geopolitical situation is deteriorating and threats are emerging in the immediate vicinity of Belarus’s borders, stating, “War is at our fence.”
