Russian Special Services Aim to Stir Polish Society Amid Railway Sabotage

Polish railway sabotage during the weekend has been blamed on Russian special services, the spokesperson for the minister of coordination of special services said, prompting an emergency meeting on November 18.

Jacek Dobrzyński, spokesperson for the minister coordinating special services, said Russian services want to destabilise society. Police are working to secure evidence, collect and verify information gathered so far.

Emergency Security Meeting on November 18

An urgent meeting was held in a Special Defence Ministry room, chaired by Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Military commanders, service heads and presidential representatives attended in a closed session to discuss sabotage acts on the Warsaw‑Lublin railway line.

Details of Sabotage Incidents

Sabotage was reported on two segments: Sobolew‑Życzyn and Zarzeka‑Puławy Azoty. Railway workers repaired a damaged track on the first segment, while a damaged power line near Puławy was restored on the second.
