Russian Strikes Hit Dnipro, Kharkiv; 18 Injured

Overnight Russian attacks across Ukraine, including strikes on Dnipro and Kharkiv, injured at least 18 people, with rescue efforts ongoing.

Russian Attacks Target Multiple Ukrainian Regions

Air raid alerts were activated across all regions of Ukraine Friday night into Saturday, including those bordering Poland – Volyn, Lviv, and Zakarpattia. Russian forces employed aircraft-launched missiles, ballistic missiles, and drones in the attacks, authorities reported.

Dnipro Residential Buildings Struck

A Russian attack on Dnipro hit several residential buildings. Oleksandr Hanha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, reported 14 injuries, including a child. Five residential buildings and enterprise facilities were damaged, sparking numerous fires.

Rescuers are searching for six people believed to be trapped under the rubble.

Kharkiv Also Targeted

Russian forces also struck Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine, with drones hitting residential buildings and civilian infrastructure. A gas pipeline was damaged. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported two injuries, including a one-and-a-half-year-old boy.

Total Casualties Rise to 18

According to Ukrainian Pravda, at least 18 people were injured in the Russian overnight attacks.

Air Defense Claims 610 Interceptions

The Ukrainian Air Force stated that Russia launched 47 missiles of various types and 619 drones during the night and morning attacks. They reported destroying or neutralizing 610 aerial attack assets.

Polish Air Force Scrambles Fighters

Polish military aircraft, along with allied forces, were scrambled in Polish airspace in response to the Russian attacks on Ukraine. Fighter jets on duty, early warning aircraft, and ground-based air defense and radar systems were put on high alert.

NATO Allies Provide Support

The Polish military thanked NATO allies, including the French Air Force, for assisting in securing Polish airspace. Appreciation was also expressed to the Dutch armed forces for their support with air defense systems.

Preventive Measures Taken

The Operational Command of the Armed Forces stated that these actions were preventative, aimed at securing and protecting Polish airspace, particularly in areas adjacent to threatened regions. No violations of Polish airspace were observed.
