Russian airstrikes on the Donetsk and Zhytomyr regions of Ukraine on Friday, April 3rd, resulted in deaths and injuries, officials reported.
Donetsk Region Under Attack
Wadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported at least two deaths and three injuries in Kramatorsk due to Russian airstrikes. Five bombs were dropped on the city, damaging five apartment buildings, a car repair shop, and five vehicles.
Filashkin emphasized that targeting residential buildings during the day is a deliberate tactic by Russian forces, stating they aim to destroy and kill and will be held accountable.
One Death Reported in Zhytomyr Region
Vitaliy Buneczko, head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, confirmed one fatality – a 70-year-old woman – in the region. Five residents sustained injuries, and rescue operations are ongoing.
Extent of Damage in Zhytomyr Region
According to the latest information, 18 buildings, including nine residential structures, were destroyed in a Russian airstrike in the north of the Zhytomyr region. Over 100 residential buildings, more than 55 outbuildings, and two stores were damaged.
Ukrainian Air Defense Response
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russian forces launched 542 drones and 37 missiles in Friday’s attack. Air defense systems intercepted 541 targets – 26 missile launches and 515 drones of various types.
However, 11 missiles and 27 combat drones still struck 20 locations.
