Russians Strike Maternity Hospital in Zaporizhzhia, Injuries Reported

On Sunday, Russian forces attacked a maternity hospital in Zaporizhzhia, injuring at least six people.

Maternity Hospital Attack in Zaporizhzhia

On Sunday (February 1), Russians attacked Zaporizhzhia. An explosion was heard in the city. It turned out a Russian drone struck the maternity hospital. At least six people were injured, including two women who were undergoing medical examinations at the facility at the time of the attack.

Russian Drones over Kyiv

For the first time since Wednesday, sirens sounded in Kyiv. Russian drones also appeared over the Ukrainian capital. Ukrainian media report that reconnaissance drones were also spotted near energy facilities. On Sunday – as claimed by the Kremlin – the energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine ends. Due to severe frosts, both Kyiv and Moscow had agreed not to attack power plants or heating plants.

Night Attacks and Civilian Casualties

On the night of January 31 to February 1, Russia attacked Ukraine with 90 long-range drones. According to Ukrainian military, most of the unmanned aerial vehicles were Shahed-type drones. 76 machines were successfully shot down or disabled. The rest struck nine targets. One of them was a residential building in Dnipro. A married couple living there died. Currently, Russians are targeting homes and railway infrastructure, and also attacking settlements near the front line. There they use small so-called FPV drones. Almost daily, authorities of Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia regions report attacks with civilian casualties.
