Polish Catholic radio host Tadeusz Rydzyk will be questioned in Rzeszow on 10 December over the construction of a museum funded by a foundation tied to former Culture Minister Piotr Gliński, amid supporters gathering outside the courthouse.
Rydzyk Rejects TVN Interview, Demands Payment from Media
Before entering the prosecutor’s office, journalists tried to ask Rydzyk about the ongoing investigation. He cut them off, saying, “I do not talk to TVN, don’t molest me.” He then added, “I speak to Polish media. How much will you pay?” He steered clear of answering the questions.
Supporters Gather with Crosses and Flags in Front of Court
Dozens of Radio Maryja supporters convened outside the prosecutor’s building, holding crosses, white‑red flags and banners. They refused to pass rosaries.
Prosecutors Probe Museum Funding Linked to Culture Minister
Investigators are checking whether Minister of Culture Piotr Gliński acted lawfully while supporting Lux Veritatis, the foundation that built the “Memory and Identity” museum named after St. John Paul II. Prosecutors say the actions harmed the public interest. The ministry has requested the contract be annulled and the grant returned.
Former Minister Piotr Gliński Questioned, Accused of Media Manipulation
Gliński has already been questioned, and prosecutors called the case “media games.” Documents and computer equipment were seized, and several witnesses were deposed. No accusations have yet been made public.
No Charges Announced So Far
Despite the inquiries, no formal charges have been filed against Rydzyk or any other parties.
