Sanepid Urges Passengers of Warsaw Flight to Report Hepatitis A Risk

Poland’s Sanepid is urging passengers of flight FR6144 from Mallorca to Warsaw on Oct. 23 to contact authorities after a hepatitis A case was reported in Olsztyn.

Flight in Question

The County Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Kłodzko is looking for passengers who flew on flight FR6144 from Mallorca to Warsaw on 23 October. The inquiry follows a letter from Olsztyn reporting a hepatitis A infection.

Immediate Actions for Passengers

Residents of Kłodzko County who travelled on the mentioned flight should contact the PSSE in Kłodzko by calling 74 867‑35‑26, ext. 28. Other passengers may reach out to their local PSSE stations. The request is precautionary as no cases have yet been detected in Kłodzko.

Hepatitis A Overview

Hepatitis A, caused by a Picornavirus, has an incubation period of 15–50 days, averaging 28–30 days. Symptoms include flu‑like illness, nausea, and occasionally jaundice.

Polish Case Statistics

From 1 January to the end of February 2025, Poland recorded 116 hepatitis A cases, compared to 319 in 2024 and 209 in 2023.
