Saska Kępa Festival Triggers Francuska Street Closure

Warsaw residents will celebrate the annual Saska Kępa Festival from May 29 to May 31, resulting in the closure of Francuska Street and significant adjustments to local traffic and public transport.

Event Schedule and Traffic Restrictions

The Saska Kępa Festival, held under the motto “Life is not just for taking” from Stanisław Soyka’s song “Tolerance,” returns to Francuska Street. To facilitate festivities, including a breakfast market, arts fair, and live concerts, the street will be closed between Zwycięzców Street and Rondo Waszyngtona from 6:00 PM on Friday, May 29, until noon on Sunday, May 31.

Through traffic will be diverted via Wał Miedzeszyński or Saska streets. Zwycięzców and Walecznych streets will remain open to vehicles throughout the duration of the event.

Parking and Local Traffic Adjustments

To accommodate the closure, bidirectional traffic will be implemented on streets intersecting with Francuska. Consequently, parking prohibitions will be enforced starting at 4:00 PM on Friday, May 29; any vehicles left in restricted areas will be towed.

Public Transport Diversions

Bus routes 117, 138, 146, and 147 will be diverted during the closure. From Rondo Waszyngtona, buses will travel along Aleja Waszyngtona to Saska Street, with further specific route changes applied to individual lines heading toward Zwycięzców, Paryska, Wał Miedzeszyński, and Egipska streets.
