Saturday Delays in Old Town During PiS Protest

On Saturday, 11 Oct 2025, the ruling PiS party will hold a stand‑still protest at Warsaw’s Castle Square, triggering 10‑17 h traffic disruptions in the Old Town.

PiS Protest Plans

Polish ruling party PiS announced a fixed‑location rally on Saturday, 11 Oct 2025 at 14:00, on Castle Square, Warsaw.

The slogans are “Stop illegal migration” and “No to Mercosur”, opposing the government’s migration policy and the proposed EU‑Mercosur trade agreement.

Political Commentary

Party leaders called for mass participation, with statements posted on PiS social media and by individual MPs.

Opposition groups, notably Civic Platform, have highlighted migration policy disputes, fueling media debate.

Traffic Restrictions

The City Hall notified that streets in the Old Town may be temporarily closed between 10:00 and 17:00, particularly Miodowa Street.

Public transport users are advised to use city buses and adjust expectations for delays.

Bus Route Adjustments

Lines 116, 178, 180, 503 and 518 will be rerouted via detours where Miodowa Street is inaccessible.

Detour corridors include routes from Miodowa/Kapucyńska intersection to Kapucyńska – Solidarności Avenue – Bankowy Square – Senatorska, and from Moliera/Senatorska/New Crossing to Senatorska – Bankowy – Anders – Świętojerska.

Additional detour paths involve the Esperanto 03–Anielewicza segment for lines oriented toward Bielańska and Nowodwory.

Tram Route Adjustments

All trams will use alternative paths through Solidarności Avenue, Jana Pawła II Avenue, Słomiński Bridge, Starzyńskiego and other major arteries bypassing the closed districts.

Key detours include routes from Zerań to 11 Listopada to Targowa and from Wolska to Jana Pawła II through Słomiński Bridge and Starzyńskiego.

Adjusted Bus Sides

In the Old Town side, buses like ZNANA/DW. CENTRALNY will circulate around Museum of Independence via Solidarności Avenue.

On the Praga North side, lines such as CH MARKI/GRODZISK will weave through Solidarności Avenue and Targowa before turning onto Ząbkowska.
