A second U.S. Air Force plane crashed in the Persian Gulf on Friday, but the pilot was able to eject safely, according to the New York Times, citing two U.S. officials.

This incident occurred after a fighter jet, an F-15, was shot down over Iran earlier.

A-10 Warthog Involved

Sources report that an A-10 Warthog attack aircraft crashed near the Strait of Hormuz around the same time the F-15E was downed over Iran.

The A-10 pilot was rescued, and there were no other people on board the aircraft. The circumstances of the crash remain unknown.

Black Hawk Helicopter Targeted

Newsmax, citing sources, reported that a U.S. multi-role Black Hawk helicopter was hit over Iran during a rescue operation following the downing of the F-15 on Friday.

The crew of the Black Hawk helicopter is safe.

Search Continues for F-15 Crew Member

One member of the F-15 crew is still missing, while the other was rescued by U.S. special forces.
