Serious Accident in Warsaw: Driver Hits Pedestrians at Crosswalk

A serious traffic collision in Warsaw left multiple pedestrians injured after a Toyota driver crashed into them at a crosswalk.

Accident Details

A Toyota driver turning left onto Grochowska Street from Zamieniecka Street forced priority, causing the vehicle to overturn and strike a crosswalk where a woman and child were present, according to police spokesperson Paweł Chmura.

Victims Injured

Five people were struck, including a 4-year-old child who required on-site resuscitation by medical responders. Conflicting reports indicate four to five victims.

Emergency Response

Multiple fire department crews, medics, and police are at the scene. A helicopter has been requested. One vehicle is overturned and covered by fire department screens at the Grochowska/Zamieniecka intersection.

Traffic Disruption

Rerouting is in effect due to road closures. Warsaw Municipal Transport reports lines 123, 125, 135, 141, 142, 143, 145, 148, 173, 183, 521, 702, 704, 720, 722, and 730 are detoured.
