Serious Accident in Warsaw: Driver Hits Pedestrians, Child Killed

A driver in Warsaw struck pedestrians at a crosswalk, killing a 5-year-old child and injuring five others.

Accident Details

A driver in a Toyota collided with pedestrians while turning left from Grochowska Street onto Zamieniecka Street, causing the vehicle to flip onto a crosswalk where a woman and child were present, according to police officer Paweł Chmura.

Fire service officer Bogdan Smoter reported the driver hit four pedestrians crossing at the intersection.

Child’s Death

A 5-year-old child died after being hospitalized in a “state of cardiac arrest,” despite resuscitation efforts, confirmed Mariusz Mazurek from the Children’s Hospital.

Six people were injured: three women aged 30, 34, and 45, and the 5-year-old, hospitalized; two men were treated on-site.

Witness Account

A witness described bystanders filming instead of helping, noting they performed CPR on the child and assisted the derailed Toyota’s driver.

Traffic Disruptions

The intersection is blocked, affecting bus routes 123, 125, 135, 141, 142, 143, 145, 148, 173, 183, 521, 702, 704, 720, 722, and 730, per Warsaw Municipal Transport.
