Serious Accident on A2 Highway Blocks Warsaw-Bound Traffic

A serious van-truck collision on the A2 highway near MOP Baranów blocked traffic toward Warsaw overnight, with two hospitalized.

Incident Details

On February 13 after 22:00, a serious accident occurred on the A2 highway toward Warsaw, several hundred meters before MOP Baranów in Żyrardów County, involving a delivery van and a semi-truck with trailer.

The incident happened on the section heading toward the capital. Initial reports indicate the delivery van struck the rear of the semi-truck, which was stationary on the shoulder lane.

Emergency Response

Firefighters, medical rescue teams, and police were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters accessed the occupants of the van before turning them over to medical teams for transport to hospital.

The driver of the semi-truck combination (tractor unit with trailer) was uninjured. Two individuals traveling in the delivery van were hospitalized.

Initial Findings

Preliminary findings suggest the semi-truck was stopped on the shoulder lane. As the van changed lanes, it collided with the stationary truck combination. Emergency services, including fire and police, were active at the scene.
