An 82-year-old woman was seriously injured in Udrzyn when a driver skidded on snow while attempting to overtake another vehicle.
The Accident
Yesterday (February 2) around 13:00, a traffic accident involving a pedestrian occurred in Udrzyn (Brąszczyk commune) on a road passing through a forest complex.
As initially determined by Wyszków police officers, a 40-year-old driver of a Toyota, while maneuvering to overtake a vehicle standing in the traffic lane, skidded on a snowy surface, resulting in hitting an 82-year-old pedestrian walking on the left side of the road in the same direction.
The woman with serious body injuries was transported to the hospital. The driver was sober.
Police Response
Police are appealing to all road users to exercise particular caution, especially during the winter season. Slippery surfaces, limited visibility, and variable weather conditions require adjusting speed to the actual road conditions.
Winter Driving Safety
Police remind that not every speed limit is a safe speed. Caution and imagination behind the wheel can prevent tragic consequences.
