Incident

On Wednesday, November 26 at about 9:46 a.m., a heavy‑duty Iveco collided with a VW Sharan on the intersection of Maczka and Rudnickiego Streets in Bielany, injuring three people who were taken to hospital.

Emergency services respond

All rescue units, including the fire brigade, police, and medical teams, were dispatched to the scene. Their first tasks were securing the damaged vehicles and the crash site to ensure safety for both the injured and other road users.

Rescue operations

Firefighters extracted the unconscious driver and a passenger from the VW Sharan and handed them to medical personnel. Three people in total were transported to hospital: the two from the VW and one from the Iveco.

Traffic disruptions

The accident caused heavy traffic congestion. The section of Maczka Street from Powstańców Śląskich to Powązkowska is completely blocked. Between the intersection with Rudnickiego and the S8 motorway, traffic is being rerouted via the old Powązkowska route.

Preliminary findings

Initial evidence indicates the Volkswagen driver failed to yield the right of way to the Iveco driver, resulting in the collision. Police are still on site investigating the circumstances and causes.
