At 8:40 p.m. a major collision involving a police radio car, a BMW, and a Toyota at the intersection of Żeromskiego and Podczaszyńskiego in Bielany left five people injured, including two police officers.
Collision Details
A severe crash occurred at the junction of Żeromskiego, Podczaszyńskiego, and Perzyńskiego streets in Bielany. The vehicles involved were a Hyundai police radio car from Warsaw V Police District, a BMW, and a Toyota.
The impact resulted in the radio car being displaced and colliding with the Toyota after the incident. The BMW driver was reported to have been traveling at high speed, passing an isolated bus and striking the side of the police vehicle.
Police Car’s Signal Use
The radio car was operating under lights and sirens, en route to an intervention. Many drivers at the intersection halted to allow the emergency vehicle to pass.
Casualties and Medical Response
Five individuals were injured, including the driver and passengers of the three vehicles and two police officers aboard the radio car. The Toyota driver was severely trapped and required hydraulic rescue equipment to evacuate.
Emergency teams treated all occupants on scene; one civilian and both officers were transported to hospital. The remaining injured received on‑scene examinations and were not hospitalized.

Police are examining vehicle speeds, right‑of‑way violations (e.g., running a red light), and conduct at the intersection when the radio car was transmitting signals.
