SGH Run to Disrupt Traffic and Public Transit in Aleja Niepodległości

Students from the Warsaw School of Economics will host the annual SGH Run this Sunday, May 31, leading to significant road closures and bus route adjustments in the Aleja Niepodległości corridor.

Event Logistics and Route

The race start and finish lines are situated on the southbound side of Aleja Niepodległości, near the Narbutta intersection. Participants will complete one or two loops, running along Aleja Niepodległości and Odyńca, with turnaround points located at Baboszewska and before Woronicza.

Road Closures and Traffic Restrictions

Sections of the southbound Aleja Niepodległości will be closed to traffic, though the Rakowiecka intersection remains open. Between 7:00 and 13:00, streets from Narbutta to Malczewskiego will have no access to Aleja Niepodległości from the Wołoska side, while Narbutta will feature two-way traffic between Aleja Niepodległości and Opoczyńska.

Northbound traffic toward the city center remains unaffected. Drivers exiting Narbutta, Madalińskiego, Dąbrowskiego, Odyńca, and Malczewskiego may only turn right toward the city center. Pedestrians may cross the route only at locations and times authorized by event security.

Parking and Public Transport Impacts

Parking is prohibited from 7:00 to 13:00 along the closed segment of Aleja Niepodległości and Odyńca, covering both parking bays and sidewalks. Several bus lines will be diverted: route 118 will utilize Woronicza and Puławską, while lines 141 and 172 will be rerouted via Puławską, Woronicza, and Wołoską. Lines 138 and 168 will detour via Boboli and Stefana Batorego, and the 174 bus will run via Stefana Batorego, Boboli, Wołoską, and Woronicza.
