Accident on A2 Near Baranów
On Friday, February 13, 2026, around 22:00, a serious accident occurred on the A2 highway towards Warsaw near MOP Baranów. A truck-trailer combination and a delivery van were involved. Two individuals in the van were hospitalized.
Van Dragged for 2 Kilometers
Initial reports indicate the van driver collided with the back of the truck’s trailer. Following the impact, the van was reportedly dragged by the truck for approximately 2 kilometers before coming to a stop.
Driver Allegedly Unaware of Accident
The truck driver felt the impact and warning signals indicating an issue with the trailer. According to on-site accounts, they initially suspected tire damage. Due to the short distance to MOP Baranów (about 2.5 kilometers), they decided to drive to the parking lot to inspect the vehicle. Other drivers later informed them that a van was being dragged behind the trailer.
Emergency Response and Investigation
Emergency services, including firefighters, medical teams, and police, were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters accessed the van and handed over the occupants to medical personnel. Police are investigating preliminary indications that the van driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, leading to the collision.
