Six Dead in Christmas‑Morning Crash; Vehicles Burned

On December 24, 2025, a deadly collision at the intersection of national roads 39 and 94 in Zielęcice killed six people, sparking a blaze that engulfed the wrecks.

Accident Details

At approximately 06:30 am, a Volkswagen Passat carrying five passengers and a Ford Kuga with one driver collided on the Brzeski‑area section of the junction. The impact caused one vehicle to ignite.

Fatalities

The Ford driver and all five occupants of the Passat died on scene. Police are still identifying the victims.

Emergency Response

Firefighters from five local brigades, led by County Chief Dariusz Kulawinek, extinguished the fire. The crash site was cleared before the victims were declared deceased.

Investigation

Police are investigating under the supervision of the Brzeg District Prosecutor’s Office. They state it is too early to determine the cause.

Road Closures

National road 39 remains shut, while road 94 reopened after 9:00 am. Traffic is detoured via local roads, including Skarbimierz‑Osiedle.
