Earlier this week, before 6:30 a.m., a fatal crash near Zielęcice, about 50 km from Opole, killed six when two cars collided and caught fire.
Fatal crash near Zielęcice
Two passenger cars collided at the intersection of national roads 39 and 94 in Zielęcice. One vehicle carried five passengers, the other only the driver. The impact ignited the cars and all occupants died. Police, operating under the supervision of the Brzeg prosecutor, are on the scene. Road 39 beyond the intersection with road 94 is blocked.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area and take alternative routes via Skarbimierz-Osiedle or Zielęcice.
Car fire in Świnoujście tunnel
In Świnoujście, a passenger car traveling from Uznam to Wolin caught fire while exiting a tunnel. Passengers left the vehicle independently and suffered no injuries. The fire caused a traffic jam for over an hour, after which traffic was diverted to the ferry crossing.
