Soldier attacked civilian?
The Military Police issued a statement on Tuesday, 23 December, detailing the steps being taken regarding a soldier who allegedly caused injuries to a civilian. The incident is believed to have occurred on 21 December in Legionowo.
The investigation is led by the Warsaw‑Ursynów Military Police Station under the supervision of the Military Prosecutor’s Office. The Military Police noted that evidence collected by the Legionowo Investigative Department (KPP) is currently being analyzed, with further procedural decisions pending.
Media reported the axe attack in Legionowo
The “Gazeta Powiatowa” reported that at approximately 4 PM on Sunday, 21 December, a man attacked a pedestrian with an axe at the intersection of Dąbrowskiego and Kochanowskiego streets in Legionowo. He fled the scene while the victim was taken to a hospital.
Prosecutor Anna Tondera‑Wolińska confirmed the soldier’s arrest. RMF FM journalists asked Military Police spokesperson Colonel Paweł Durka for comments, but he declined to discuss the incident, emphasizing that analysis of the collected material was still underway. He disclosed only that the arrested soldier is a non‑commissioned officer.
