Zdzisław K., son of Polish politician Jacek Kurski, has been charged with raping a minor, Magdalena N., in 2009 when she was under 15 years old.
Charge and Investigation
The Toruń District Prosecutor’s Office announced on September 17 that Zdzisław K. had been charged with raping a minor, Magdalena N., in Gdańsk and Danielino in 2009.
Magdalena N. was under 15 years old at the time of the incident. Zdzisław K. has denied the allegations but provided extensive explanations, which were deemed contradictory to the investigation findings.
Procedural Steps and Precautions
During the interrogation, Zdzisław K. was assisted by two defense attorneys, and a proxy for the injured woman was also present.
The suspect has been examined by forensic experts, including a sexologist and psychiatrists. The prosecution is currently awaiting their opinion.
As preventive measures, Zdzisław K. has been banned from leaving the country, is under police surveillance, and prohibited from contacting or approaching the victim within 50 meters.
He is also required to pay 30,000 zloty as a bail.
Background of the Case
The incident allegedly occurred in 2009 when Zdzisław K. was 17 years old and Magdalena was 9. The case involves allegations that K. exploited her over several vacation seasons.
The victim’s mother filed a complaint in 2015. Despite this, the Gdańsk prosecutor’s office initially twice dropped the case.
The investigation was reopened after the 2023 parliamentary elections and is now handled by the Toruń District Prosecutor’s Office.
