On the night of 10–11 December, Spanish supporters were beaten on the S8 between Warsaw and Białystok. Near Ostrowi Mazowieckie, two cars had blocked a bus and a group of masked attackers armed with hammers and telescopic batons broke in and assaulted the passengers. Roughly fifty attackers were involved; nine Spaniards and one Pole were injured, three were hospitalized. The incident was first reported by RMF FM, and MP POC Zesław Mroczek stated that officials were already identifying the remaining participants of the assault.
Seven Arrested in Rayo Vallecano Fans Attack
Police discovered a makeshift net separating the service road from the S8 and detained two vehicles and four people, including a woman, all identified as residents of Białystok. A total of seven people were arrested. Among the confiscated items were pipe cleaners, telescopic batons, wooden sticks, and metal‑cutting shears, according to press secretary Katarzyna Kucharska of KWP from Radom.
Jagiellonia Białystok to Face Rayo Vallecano
On Thursday, Jagiellonia will play in Białystok against the Spanish club Rayo Vallecano in the Conference League. A few weeks earlier, Lech Poznań played in Madrid; reports indicate that the Rayo Vallecano fans sparked riots, which the Spanish police had to intervene in. The newspaper adds that the fans of the Spanish team are known for their left‑wing convictions.
