In the hours before Legia Warszawa’s match against Sparta Praha, Sparta fans vandalised the recently renovated Biocenotic Garden on Pola Mokotowskie, covering wooden walkways with vulgar graffiti.
Vandalisation Details
Reporters and local residents witnessed the damage on 27 November, when masked men, likely supporters, defaced the wooden bridges, benches and pergolas of the Biocenotic Garden with fresh paint and crayon markings, including the banner “Sparta Praha Ultras”.
Impact on the Renovated Park
The Biocenotic Garden is a key feature of the 2023 revitalisation of Pola Mokotowskie, which cost over 40 million złoty and introduced rain gardens, new plantings, and wildlife‑friendly infrastructure across 70 hectares.
Police Presence and Response
Despite a heavy police presence – dozens of patrol cars and a road block – officials have yet to release details on investigations, damage estimates or plans to restore the garden.
