State Funeral for Łukasz Litewka, Parliament Schedule Adjusted

The state funeral for MP Łukasz Litewka will be held in Sosnowiec, prompting adjustments to the Sejm’s schedule, including votes on ministerial no-confidence motions.

State Funeral and Parliamentary Schedule

Speaker of the Sejm Włodzimierz Czarzasty announced that President Karol Nawrocki and Prime Minister Donald Tusk are expected to attend the funeral of MP Łukasz Litewka. Despite the funeral, the Sejm will continue to work, with votes regarding the dismissal of the Ministers of Climate and Health scheduled for Thursday at 12:30 PM.

The funeral ceremonies will take place in Sosnowiec on Wednesday at 1:30 PM. The Chancellery of the Sejm is organizing the state funeral.

Travel Assistance for MPs

Czarzasty stated that all votes have been moved from Wednesday to Tuesday, and any MP wishing to attend Litewka’s funeral will receive assistance with travel to and from Sosnowiec. However, the Sejm session will continue.

Votes of No Confidence

Votes on motions of no confidence against Minister of Climate and Environment Paulina Hennig-Kloska and Minister of Health Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda will be held on Thursday at 12:30 PM.

Motions Against Hennig-Kloska and Sobierańska-Grenda

The motion to dismiss Paulina Hennig-Kloska was submitted to the Sejm at the end of March, signed by approximately 100 MPs, primarily from Konfederacja and PiS. The motion cites a lack of action regarding the negative impacts of EU climate policy on Poland, particularly concerning the ETS system and the “Clean Air” program.

The motion against Minister of Health Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda is supported by PiS MPs, who criticize the ministry’s actions and point to the deteriorating situation in the healthcare system.
